150mm lens

Postby elan » Wed Nov 12, 2008 1:29 am

I have recently become a 690BL user with the standard and 65mm lens. If anybody knows of a 150mm going out there for not a whole heap of money please contact me at info@dotco.co.nz

with thanks

Hi Brian,

You might have better luck looking for the 180mm lens which, although not very common, seems easier to locate than the elusive 150mm lens.

Cheers!

There is one right now for sale on eBay for $1099.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220338283370) -- but this is from an overpriced seller. I think a more reasonable price would be $600-800.

According to the statistical data compiled by forum member Walter Aigner, during the last 12 months there have been 2 auctions for 150mm lenses on eBay, vs. 10 auctions for 180mm lenses. No wonder the 150mm fetches such high prices!

Cheers!

Do remember that it's slow and that focusing it is not that easy. Oh, and it's also rather big and heavy, surprise surprise. If you really want a short tele with 2x3 aspect ratio, you might consider supplementing your trusty 6x9 with a little 35mm Bessa equipped with a 75mm lens. Or of course an SLR equipped with anything you want. Depends on your intended uses for it, of course.
