Offered for sale on eBay, a GL690 body with the 100mm auto-exposure normal lens and the 180mm telephoto. This kit seems complete with finder, lens caps, filters, lens case and even a rare Fujica hard case (in pretty worn condition -- but I have never seen one looking better, due to the bad quality of the faux leather used). Here's the link:

Cheers!

The reserve wasn't met for this item. In other words it's likely the item wasn't sold. Hope he relists and do seperate listings for the lenses, body and so on

Hi all forum people btw! I'm Fredrik from Sweden. I got a GL690 with 100mm black lens off ebay. Still waiting for it to arrive so I can start shooting with the camera of my dream. Also have a a Fuji GX680, a Mamiya RB67 and a Mamiya C22. The Fuji 690 will be my first ever rangefinder.

Hi Fredrik and welcome here.

I'm sure you will like the GL690. Although it's a large camera, it is also very easy to handle, compared to your GX680, RB67 and Mamiya TLR. If you can live with their limitations (no extreme telephoto lenses, no macro, no special effects filters ...), rangefinder cameras are very fun to use. On the big Fujis, the sheer mass of the camera combined with the absence of vibrations due to mirror slap allow me to take pictures handheld at 1/8 sec -- but I have to admit than I am rather steady handed. With Fuji Pro 800z loaded, a Fuji G690 with the 65mm or the 100mm AE lens is the ultimate street camera!

Cheers!

Sébastien

Thanks for the welcome!

In the future I'm thinking about a 150mm or 180mm (but I already have the ultimate portrait camera, the GX680) for some handheld portraiture maybe, but I know those lenses are hard to come by and very expensive...

Anyway, this is rather odd, only the 180mm optical finder offered, but no lens!

1/8 of sec handheld sounds very promising :-P

Patience is your friend...

Yes, it happens sometimes. There are also 180mm lenses offered without the viewfinder...

Train with a digital camera. I am able to shoot at 1/2sec. handheld with a 24mm lens. Alcohol and coffee are to be avoided :-(.

Cheers!
