little holes in curtain of my gl690

Postby gameone » Sun Jun 13, 2010 11:32 pm

hello,

I noticed that when changing lenses mid-roll when it's sunny I have light leaks
at one side of my photo's. Indeed when I take of the lens with no film loaded
and I put the camera, curtain closed, against some strong lightsource, the curtain
show 4 tiny, holes on the left side...
Is there anything I can do about this?
any experience?

would be really great to her about that

THANKs!!
best regards sam

If the holes are small, you can try using rubber based cement to patch them up. But a more reliable solution on the long term would be to contact Frank Marshman (telephone 800/471-8133; 540/434-8133) to have the curtain replaced.

Cheers!

good to know you are watching this forum every now and then to answer
questions. The hoels are small... but I live in europe so calling your guy soesn't seem
to be the best solution. I do own a body for spare parts that has a good curtain...
is replacing the curtain a really though job?
thanks for the info so far

Hi gameone,

I don't have much time to monitor the forum nowadays but I try to read it from time to time...

Maybe you could have a look to this thread about repairing the curtain. There's a link to a partial scan of the G690 repair manual that I posted some time ago.

Cheers!
